Welcome to The Meets Book

Welcome to The Meets Book, the blog of the Dundee University Rucksack Club!

DURC, as it's often known, was founded in 1923 and is one of the oldest outdoors clubs in the country. It's also one of the largest and the most active, with a trip every week during term time along with numerous social and other events during the course of the year. DURC is an inclusive club - you don't need to be a student to join - and we offer a wide range of activities from hillwalking and Munro-bagging to climbing, scrambling and mountaineering.

So what's this blog for?

Well, those of you who've been on a trip with us before will already be familiar with the real meets book: it's the log in which we record details of our trips, and in which we traditionally draw pictures and write about our experiences and (mis)adventures.

In this meets book we'll be sharing our trip reports online, along with occasional articles. In doing so we hope to show just how active we are as a club, and to share our love of the outdoors with as many people as we can.

Thank you for reading, we hope you'll enjoy the blog, and get involved if you can!
